Landers Closes the Save at Perfect Game v. East Cobb Rockies

The East Cobb Rockies get on top of Show Baseball Academy 17U early but can’t hang on in 4-3 loss

The East Cobb Rockies came out firing, but couldn’t hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-3 ballgame against Show Baseball Academy 17U on Tuesday at Perfect Game Park South at LakePoint Field 10.

A groundout by Lebron gave Show Baseball Academy 17U the lead in the sixth inning.

Jacob Yish was hot from the plate for Show Baseball Academy 17U. Yish went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

The East Cobb Rockies had no answer for Matt Landers, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Landers held the East Cobb Rockies hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Dillen Miller was charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed four runs.

In the top of the first, the East Cobb Rockies grabbed the early lead, 1-0.

Show Baseball Academy 17U scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fifth. In the third, Show Baseball Academy 17U scored on an error, bringing home Ryan Collins.

The lead stayed with Show Baseball Academy 17U after the sixth, when it scored two runs on a groundout by Lebron and an RBI triple by Yish.
